One couldn’t help but notice…

that Downtown was a little quieter this last weekend. I for one am glad that downtown Dallas was not considered a 4th of July destination.

Even our infamous ultralounges weren’t doing their normal business. Not bad, mind you, but not the normal boom. With one exception, that is.

Clear Ultra Lounge, maintaining a current trend, seemed particularly desolate. (more…)

A Slick Way to Fool TABC

You know, it’s illegal to over-serve a patron in a bar. The bar owner can avoid liability if the bartender is TABC certified and the owner/manager is not personally aware of the violation or does not order the bartender to over-serve. I think it would be criminally negligent for the owner/manager not to be aware of his employees actions. (more…)

The only Dallas patron more fickle than a restaurant patron must surely be the club patron. The so-called ultralounge scene Downtown is very young, about a year old. Before you remind me that obar has been here forever, I’ll comment that I don’t consider obar to be truly an “ultralounge” even though I’ll occasionally include them in the list.
